How renting works here

Renting in Nigeria usually means handing a year’s rent to someone you met last week and hoping. Here is what we do instead, from the first search to the day the landlord is paid.

  1. Search

Filter by state, LGA, bedrooms and the most you can pay to move in. Every price already includes the compulsory fees.

  2. Look at the checks

Each home shows which checks it passed and when: the lister’s identity, the documents, their right to let it, and an inspector’s visit.

  3. View it in person

Book a time. Your viewing has a reference and a one-time code, so both sides know the other is genuine.

  4. Lock it

Found the one? Lock it for 30 minutes so nobody else can take it while you pay. Locking costs nothing.

  5. Pay the licensed partner

Pay by bank transfer or card. The money sits with a licensed partner, where neither the landlord nor we can touch it.

  6. Sign and move in

Sign the tenancy agreement online, collect your keys, and confirm the handover in the app.

  7. Check the place for 72 hours

If something is seriously wrong, report it and the money stays put while it’s sorted. Otherwise the landlord and agent are paid.
